Bible Through Music is one of our projects. It isn’t who we are.

Artistic Collaboration Project grew around a simple idea: different people bring different abilities, perspectives, experiences, and ways of thinking—and when those things come together, the result can become something none of them could have created alone.

That is what collaboration means to us.

We don’t believe everyone involved in a project needs to be good at the same things or approach a problem from the same direction. One person may bring the original idea. Someone else may understand the technology. Another may hear what isn’t working. Someone may organize the pieces, challenge an assumption, find a better direction, or ask the question that changes everything.

What matters to us isn’t that everybody can do everything.

It’s what we can make together.

We did.

We’re not a record label, a church, or a large production company. We’re a small collaborative group using the abilities we have, the tools now available to us, and a willingness to experiment.

Much of this was built in a garage.

None of us needed to become an orchestra.

Bible Through Music began with a question:

What would happen if the words of the Bible were experienced through different kinds of music?

That question became an experiment.

The experiment became a project.

And the project kept growing.

Technology, including artificial intelligence, is part of our creative process, and we believe in being open about that.

We choose the source material, develop and test approaches, explore musical styles and creative directions, listen to the results, reject what doesn’t work, revise, refine, compare, and experiment again.

The tools available today allow a small collaborative project like ours to explore ideas that once would have required resources far beyond our reach.

But having the tools is only the beginning.

The choices give the project its direction.

Because it is extraordinary source material.

Across centuries, the Bible has profoundly influenced art, language, music, literature, philosophy, and culture.

Its pages contain creation and destruction, love and betrayal, war and peace, sex and murder, sacrifice and survival, grief and hope, poetry and prophecy.

Those words have been spoken, read, studied, debated, painted, sculpted, preached, whispered, sung, and argued over for generations.

We wanted to experience those words in a new and more powerful way.

What happens to Genesis when the music changes?

What happens to Psalms?

What happens when familiar words are surrounded by an unfamiliar sound?

Can changing the musical environment cause us to notice something in the words that we passed over before?

That is the exploration behind Bible Through Music.

That part is up to you.

You may hear worship.

You may hear literature, history, poetry, or storytelling.

You may simply hear an unusual piece of music.

You may find something you love. Or you may hear something that makes you stop and think:

“I never expected Genesis to sound like this.”

That’s enough.

We provide the music.

You decide what relationship you have with it.

Bible Through Music belongs to Artistic Collaboration Project, but ACP wasn’t created only to make Bible music.

We are interested in what happens when different abilities, perspectives, ideas, and technologies come together in unexpected ways.

We experiment with music, literature, storytelling, art, technology, and ideas.

Some experiments become projects.

Some don’t.

Some change completely somewhere along the way.

And a surprising amount of what we do begins with one very simple question:

What if we tried this?

Sometimes the answer is:

That was a terrible idea.

Sometimes it’s:

That actually worked.

Either way, we learned something.

And then we keep building.
